Bill was a proud member of the Croation Fraternal Union of America and served as President of Lodge 19 for over 40 years.  A proud Croation who came to America as a teenager, and forged a life for himself in what he called the “greatest country in the world”.  Bill enjoyed watching Pittsburgh sporting teams with his nephews and grandchildren.  He took pride in working hard and was always first in lending a hand to friend, or stranger alike.  Bill loved to dance the Polka and have a beer with his friends.  Most of all he loved his wife Helen and his family with all his hart.  Bill lived the American dream.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to St. Jude Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC.

When we were young and playing sports Mr. Simunovic was quick with a smile, a handshake or a pat on the back. As we got older he enjoyed having a drink and asking how your life was going. He was so friendly and welcoming. He was one of those parents that made growing up on Mt. Washington such a great experience.
