William "Bill" McMelleon

William M. "Bill" McMelleon, age 69, of Kennedy Township, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023.  Beloved husband of 30 years to Patricia A. (Mohrbacher) McMelleon.  Loving father of Margaret "Maggie" McMelleon and Chloe McMelleon.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents Margaret E. Griffith McMelleon and Blaine McMelleon; sisters Faye S. Pettner, Janet L. Blair, and Karen M. McMelleon.  Bill graduated in 1972 from Center Townhip High School and graduated from Penn State with a degree in Criminal Justice.  After graduation he joined the Beaver County Sheriff’s Department. He then worked in the Beaver Falls Police Department as well as the Center Township Police Department.   He later attended Central Missouri University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Aviation Safety.  Bill retired after 30 years of service from US Airway as a flight instructor.  He was devoted to his church and was always willing to help anyone.  Relatives and friends received Friday, December 29, 2023, from 3-5 PM at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 334 Forest Grove Road, Coraopolis (Kennedy Township), PA 15108 where service will follow at 5 PM.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to The American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Avenue, #1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 (www.heart.org) or 25FORTYPGH, 1238 Sunset Drive, Bulger, PA 15019 (duffy@fortypgh,.com) or Light of Light Ministries, 913 Western Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233  (www.lightoflife.org).
