THELMA "MICKEY" (SHORT)
Of Robinson Township, born September 26, 1928, lived a long life and brought happiness to others until her passing on July 1, 2017. Mickey was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, William "Bill" Porta and her daughter, Debbie Masley. She is survived by three daughters, Kathi Caliguiri (Robert), Cindy Gigante (Wayne) and Bobbi Rokicki (Walt); as well as nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Mickey was active in church serving as a lector at Holy Trinity and Saint Malachy Catholic churches. She thoroughly enjoyed her 20 years working at Montour High School as a secretary and, even after she retired, many considered her Montour's #1 Fan. During her later years, Mickey remained active, along with Bill, delivering Meals on Wheels, participating and winning pistol competitions and bowling with her dear friends in the Ingram Bowling League. Friends will be received Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Twp., PA 15108. Mass will be July 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 343 Forest Grove Road followed by interment in Holy Souls Cemetery, 4772 Campbells Run Road, Robinson Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
