Ronald Gubba

Ronald "Ron" A.

76, of Robinson Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the Family Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Mt Lebanon, with his family by his side.  Born June 17, 1940 in McKees Rocks, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Rosella (Cisowski) Gubba; beloved husband of 55 years to Sara "Tooty" Gubba; devoted and loving father to Susan A. Gubba and Gary M. (Christine) Gubba, and his devoted canine companion, Lucy; brother of Andy Gubba, Bill (Claudia) Gubba, Mary Ann (Louis) DeAngelis, and the late Paul Gubba (surviving spouse, Christine Gubba).  Ron is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Florence Haas and a brother-in-law, Bill (Linda) Strauch.

Ron lived out his golden years doing the things he loved.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and looked forward to his annual fishing trip to Canada.  Although he was planning to go again this year, God had other plans for him.

Friends welcome SUNDAY and MONDAY, from 12 pm - 8 pm, at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Township, Coraopolis, PA 15108.  A funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 10 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Mark's Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hillman Cancer Center for everything they did for Ron over the past three years. Additionally, the family would also like to thank the Hospice staff for the care and compassion they gave Ron to make his final days peaceful and comfortable.

Ron  was a true warrior as he endured many struggles and suffering while he battled his fiercest opponent, Sarcoma.  As much as he had to endure, Ron never once complained or felt sorry for himself.  In the end, he accepted his fate with the utmost grace, dignity and humility.  Ron was an amazing man, his suffering is over and he is free from pain.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.  You've earned your wings Chief.  Rest in peace.
