Rocco Zagari

Age 90, of Kennedy Township, passed away on Friday night, September 14, 2018, surrounded by family. Preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Domenica; beloved father of John (Pamela), Frank (Tammy), and Rocco (Crystal); adored grandfather of Angela Platt (Michael), Alissa Pruss (Michael), Rachel Davis (Noah), Gabrielle Lee (Graham), Anna Chandler (Aaron), Jessica Schad (Victor), Natalie Zagari, Rocky Zagari, Brandon Zagari, Michael Zagari, and Francesca Zagari; and great-grandfather of twelve; and cherished friend and relative of many more. In 1951, Rocco left Sinopoli, Italy for Pittsburgh, where he worked in the Shenango mill for 38 years. He bought his first restaurant in 1982, Rocky's, in Carnegie, and expanded in 1996 with Rocky's II in Stowe Twp. He spent his well-earned retirement maintaining his impressive garden, taking care of his cat, and watching wrestling and westerns. Friends received on MONDAY from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the MCDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Twp., PA 15108, where prayers will be offered on TUESDAY at 9:30 a.m. on followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Malachy Church, Kennedy Twp., at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may generously be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
