Robert J. Slattery

Robert J. "Bob" Slattery, age 95, of Kennedy Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2024.  Beloved husband of 64 years to the late Elizabeth Ann (Subjinski) Slattery, who was the light of his life.  Loving father of Mary Beth (Bob) Winters, Noreen (Bonnie) Slattery, Michael (Gina) Slattery, Daniel Slattery, and the late Kathy (surviving spouse Rudy) Fleck; cherished grandfather of nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Bob was preceded by his brother Gerald Slattery and sisters Mary Grace Slattery and Edith Best. Bob was an avid reader of American History who also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and frequent road trips with his beloved Betty.  Relatives and friends received Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 3-8 PM at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 334 Forest Grove Road, Coraopolis (Kennedy Township), PA 15108.  Funeral prayer Friday, March 1, 2024 at 10:15AM at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Archangel Gabriel Parish, St Malachy Church, 343 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Township.  Interment to follow in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 (www.littlesistersofthepoorpittsburgh.org) or The Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
