Robert Frank Butter

Age 90, of Kennedy Township, passed peacefully on March 20, 2018. Loving and devoted husband for 67 years to the late Jean (Streiner) Butter; Preceded in death by his parents Teresa and Frank Butter, daughter Janet Daniel, son Robert and brother Frank. Loving father of Mary, David (Sharon), Susan (Dan) Bonk and Michael (Mary).  Proud grandfather to Jennifer (Mejia), Laura (Showman) and Alyssa Butter; John, Jason and Jeff Daniel; Stephanie, Alyson and Emily Bonk; and Abbi and Hannah Butter. Great grandfather to Rosie and Ben Showman. Bob is a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering, he worked for the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad for 41 years, and retired in 1989 as Chief Engineer Maintenance of Way. He was a former Director of the Montour School Board, and a member of the Kennedy Township Planning Commission. Friends will be received 2:00 – 8:00 PM  Friday at  McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Township. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM Saturday  in St. Malachy Church.
