Age 87, of Kennedy Township, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Margie was born and raised in East Vandergrift, PA. The youngest child of the late Anna and Charles Yacura, she moved to Washington, D.C. at the age of 17 to find work and better opportunities. In the Washington, D.C. area, she met Roland Sanford Buchanan, her husband of 63 ½ years. Together they built their life in Northern Virginia. Margie loved to read, watch sports and keep up to date on current events. She enjoyed spending time with family, walking and exercising with friends. She also loved to dance and sing. During the past several years, Margie was a resident of The Residence at Willow Lane Memory Care in Kennedy Township and most recently of Caring Heights in Kennedy Township, and also received care from Synergy Home Care Services and Pilgrimage Hospice. She is survived by; her daughter, Sandra "Sandy" (Larry) Dickson of Kennedy Township and son, Glen (Justine) Buchanan of Edgewater, MD., her brother John Yacura of Freeport, her grandchildren Troy and Jeanna Dickson, and Christopher and Justine Marie Buchanan along with Sherri (Mitchell) Ayres and Larry (Juliana) Dickson, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margie was predeceased by her husband in 2015, her sisters, Helen McDonald and Marie Helhowski, and her brothers, Charles, Michael and Frank Yacura. Funeral Services will be held SATURDAY, at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Angels Chapel at Resurrection Cemetery, officiated by, Rev. Karl McDonald. Arrangements entrusted to McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC.
