Lyle William Calvert, 91, of Clearwater, FL passed away peacefully on May 11, 2019. Lyle was born in McKees Rocks, PA on January 20, 1928, son of John S. Calvert and Florence F. Calvert (nee Bowers). He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, serving in both the American and European theater during WWII. He worked most of his life in business/retail sales, starting as an accounting clerk in the John Calvert Lumber Company before retiring from Alling & Cory in Pittsburgh, PA and later from the J.C. Penney Co. in Clearwater, FL. Lyle was a proud 50-year member of the Coraopolis Masonic Lodge #674. In retirement he enjoyed traveling, completing 17 cruises over 25 years. Lyle’s other favorite pastimes included deer and turkey hunting across Pennsylvania; fishing the fresh waters of North Bay, Canada; rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Rays; and watching PGA tournament golf. Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley J Calvert, Clearwater, FL; three daughters Cynthia (Phil) Rosatone, Tampa, FL, Lori (Dave) Deal, Safety Harbor, FL, Barbara Turner, Bradenton, FL; one son John Calvert, Merritt Island, FL; and four grandchildren, Chelsie Rosatone, Philip Rosatone, Zachary Turner and Timothy Calvert. There will be a small remembrance service held in Clearwater, FL prior to his final burial, a graveside military ceremony at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in McKees Rocks, PA.
