Lana C. Hank

Age 64, of Kennedy Twp., passed unexpectedly on Friday, December 3, 2021. Beloved wife of 39 years to David L. Hank; Loving mother of Jesse and Alexa; Twin sister of Lisa Beadle (John), brothers Kevin VanShura and the late Alan VanShura (surviving wife Rosanne VanShura); Daughter of the late Vincent and Carolyn VanShura; Dear niece of Ann Garofalo and Elsie Allen; Sister in law of Janice Thal: Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many other loving extended family members, friends and her cats and kittens.

To everyone that knew Lana, she was a bright, silly, compassionate, and creative force that could lighten any room. She was always warm and welcoming to everyone that graced her doorstep, and was always thinking of ways to let the people around her know she cared deeply. Lana spent 23 years of her life making a difference in hundreds of lives at St. Malachy's preschool, even inviting her students to leave chalk drawings at the end of her driveway. Everything she did had the distinct touch of her creativity.

One of her favorite things was to spend time with family and friends and go out to breakfast. She was a very well-known regular at Eggs'N'At and had a particular taste for pumpkin pancakes. Another favorite of hers was gardening, which often overflowed from her house to her children's homes. She never shied away from helping the people closest to her. There were countless hours spent helping Lexi with her costumes, and Jesse with his projects. She also had an amazing talent for whistling like a songbird.

Her love and compassion will be deeply missed, but her spirit and kindness will shine on in all the people she shared it with.

Mass of Christian Burial 10AM THURSDAY at Archangel Gabriel Parish, St. Malachy Church. Interment to follow in Sewickley Cemetery.
