Katherine Charles

Katherine Charles, age 92, formerly of Clairton, died on October 6, 2023 at Whitehall Borough Skilled Nursing Center. 

She was born and raised in "the bottoms" neighborhood of McKees Rocks and was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Catherine (Hanchovsky) Hulak and her siblings Ann Kulick, John Hulak, Mary Velmar and Suzanna Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Charles, her son, William Charles (Cheryl)  and her grandson Justin Charles.  

Katherine is survived by her loving grandsons Will Charles, Chad Charles (Jen) and Josh Charles (Kaitlin).  She is also survived by her precious great-grandsons Blaise, Sawyer, Justin and Jameson.  She also leaves behind nieces Sandy Hodgkiss, Karol Gaydas, Susan Fazio, Diane Antes, Melissa Taylor, nephew Robert Taylor and their children and grandchildren.  Memory Eternal. 

Mrs Charles retired from Kaufmann's department store in downtown Pittsburgh. 

Relatives and friends received Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 334 Forest Grove Road, Coraopolis (Kennedy Township) PA 15108 where funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM.  Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery, McKees Rocks.
