John Fratto

FRATTO
John, 90, of Robinson Twp., passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband for over 52 years to Josephine Fratto; loving father to Jacqueline (Dennis) DiPiazza, Salvatore "Tony" (Judy), Raymond (Cathy), and Robert Fratto; and cherished grandfather to Mia, Antonio, Nicola, Juliette, Nina, Alessandra and Anthony. John is also survived by his sister Betty (Victor) Costanzo, brother Carmen (Joan) Fratto, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Rose (Joseph) Sobeck.

Born in Calabria, Italy, John came to America through Ellis Island as a child. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. John retired from his civilian job at the Army Corps of Engineers as a Planner Estimator after over 35 years of service.  He was an avid reader, loved opera, and liked to quote Shakespeare. He was a skilled artist, loved to play his harmonica and was kind to all living things. He will be dearly missed.

Family and friends may visit THURSDAY and FRIDAY, 2-4 & 6-8 pm, at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Twp., where prayers will be offered SATURDAY at 9:00 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30, at St. John of God Parish / St. Mary's Church, McKees Rocks.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to St. John of God Parish / St. Mary's Church, or Focus On Renewal (F.O.R.).
