Joanne Quinn Smith (LaMonica), beloved, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.  Joanne Quinn Smith (67) was a woman filled with an  irrepressible spirit of enthusiasm and zest for  life.  She had courageously fought a battle with Cancer for 3 years and was with those she loved when she passed away.  Joanne is survived by her two dearly loved sons, Dean Quinn,(Angel) and Joseph “Buddy” Smith III, (Lauren)  Grandson, Evan Quinn, (Evva) Granddaughter Anayah Thomas,  Great Grandsons, Jasper, Jacob, Anthony and Caiden Quinn.  Beloved sister of Charles LaMonica Jr  and Joseph LaMonica.  Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Bud” Smith, sister Teresa LaMonica and parents Mary and Charles LaMonica.  Joanne is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Joanne’s was an award winning entrepreneur, author, and podcaster.  She owned Dreamweaver Marketing and was the publisher of Positively Pittsburgh Live Magazine and host of podcasts, Positively Pittsburgh Live and the Techno Granny Show.   Joanne was recognized in 2009 by the US SBA as the  National Small Business Journalist of the Year for her efforts in promoting  small business.   A strong supporter of women business owners she was President of the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of NAWBO from 2006-2008 and continued to serve as an advisor and mentor to many. 

Family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 PM SUNDAY at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1225 Chartiers Ave., McKees Rocks.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM MONDAY at Ascension Roman Catholic Worship Site, St. Philip Parish.

Flowers and donations can be sent to name of funeral home and donations given to the family.
