George D. Silvat

Stowe Twp., Allegheny County, PA - On the morning of Thursday, February 2, 2017, George D. "Sonny" Silvat,  passed away peacefully at 11:43 AM in Rosewood of the Ohio Valley Assisted Living in McKees Rocks, PA.  George was born on May 25, 1938 in McKees Rocks the only son of George and Anna (Hubick) Silvat.

George is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Helen M. (Strickler) Silvat, of Stowe Twp., formerly of Aliquippa, PA; children, Sherry (Frank) Amity of Crafton Heights, Darlene (Rick) Koritsky of Kennedy Twp., David (Lynn) Silvat of Robinson Twp., Gary S. (wife-Kimberly Holzer) Silvat of Columbiana, OH., Carol (Willy Thomas) Strickler of San Francisco, CA formerly of Cranberry Twp., grandfather of Richard (Rick) Koritsky of Los Angeles, CA, Jonathan (Jon) Koritsky, Emily Koritsky both of Kennedy Twp., Nicole Talerico of Stowe Twp., Daniel (Dano) Talerico, Allegra Silvat, Geno Silvat all of Robinson Twp., Darien Strickler, Alexa Strickler, Aaliyah Strickler all of San Francisco, CA, Connor and Cailyn Silvat both of Columbiana, OH; great grandchildren Bella and Mia Lucci, brother-in-law, Jack Oxley of Nitro, WV.

Besides his parents George was preceded in death by his sisters, Florence "Flo" (the late Edwin) Typek and Theresa (Sis) Oxley.

Visitation will take place at the McDermott Funeral Home, Inc., 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Twp. SUNDAY 5-8 PM and MONDAY 2-8 PM.  Funeral Mass will be held TUESDAY at 10:30 AM in the Holy Trinity Polish National Church, Stowe Twp. burial will immediately follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
