Fred Grubich

Age 92, of Kennedy Twp, passed away on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Grubich, loving father of Susan (Dave) Taschner and Betty (Todd) Henkelmann; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son Fred, five brothers, Daniel, Pete, Harry, Steve and Michael, and two sisters, Mary and Sophie. Fred was retired from the Post Office and served in the U.S. Army during WWII, wounded in Germany, receiving the Purple Heart. He was handy around the home and fixing the family’s automobiles. His vegetable garden was enjoyed by all. His favorite saying was “life is good.” Family and friends will be received on THURSDAY from 9am at the McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Twp., where prayers will be offered at 9:45am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Malachy Church.
