Frank H. Recktenwald

Age 94 of McKees Rocks, PA, husband of 62 years to the late Cecilia Apollonia Recktenwald (Merdes), son of the late Frank and Gertrude Recktenwald, passed in peace March 23, 2016. He is survived by his four children; Donna (Bill) Reynolds, Sheila (Pascal) DeLaquil, Jack (Lynne) Recktenwald and Gary (Linda) Recktenwald; 4 grandchildren; Bethany, Pascal, Amelia and Brian, 3 great grandchildren; Nicholas, Zachary and Ilario.
Frank loved his family and was a great provider working two jobs for many years. He was a Pittsburgh steelworker as well as a correctional officer at the Allegheny County Jail. Frank served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of Saint Malachy Catholic Church in Kennedy Township for more than 60 years serving on the church council, as well as a lector and choir member. Frank loved singing, crossword puzzles, telling jokes, and was unbeatable playing horseshoes. Frank will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, generosity and devotion to his family, friends, and church.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday March 26, 2016, at MCDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Township,15108. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday March 28, 2016 at St. Malachy Church in Kennedy Township. Procession and burial will follow to Resurrection Cemetery, Moon.
