Eleanor “Elly” Tkach

Eleanor “Elly” Tkach of Moon Townhip and Phoenix, Arizona passed away on

Friday, July 13, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her

husband of 53 years, Steve B. Tkach; her parents Andy and Phyllis Beck; and her

sister Dorothy Semler.  She is survived by her loving children Michael (William Lechner);

Phyllis; Mark (Janet); and Tom (Bonnie); beloved grandchildren Erin, Kristin, Ryan, Christopher,

and Cameron Tkach; and many nephews and nieces.  Elly grew up in Stowe Township where she graduated

from Stowe High School in 1946. After she and Steve married in 1950, they lived in Stowe

for sixteen years, and then they moved their family to Moon Township. She worked for many

years as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of Moon School District.

She enjoyed music, dancing, family picnics, and traveling with her family. Elly created a welcoming

home to family and friends and was an active and adventurous person, from riding in bi-planes

in her teens to snorkeling in the Bahamas in her 80’s.

She often remarked how blessed her life has been to have the family and friends she has had. It is we, her family and friends, who have been blessed to have had her in our lives. We will always miss her.

2-4 & 6-8 PM THURSDAY.  Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 AM FRIDAY at St. John of God Parish, the Church of

St. Mary’s.  Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter in memory of her.
