Dorothy Anna (Spisic) Cross

Dorothy Cross of Stowe Township, loving and devoted wife of 60 years, to Roy E. Cross, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 24th.  Dorothy was the mother to two loving sons.  Roy E. Cross, Jr. (Lisa) and Ronald E. Cross (Angela). Grandmother to her five grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Roy E. Cross, III, Eric J. Cross, Elizabeth R. Cross, Matthew A. Cross, and David J. Cross.  She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father (Anna Bronowicz Spisic and Joseph F. Spisic, Sr.). Survived by her four siblings Doris “Chookie” (George) Hric, Joseph “Sonny" Spisic, Jr., James “Jamo” (Cathy) Spisic, and Joann (Patrick) McMahon.  Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dorothy was employed by Bell Telephone in her early years, she loved being a telephone operator.  She left her job to become a full-time, devoted mother. Dorothy was very involved in the Syria Shriners with her husband Roy.  They served in many capacities within the organization.  She was a long time member of St. Malachy Parish and their Bereavement Choir.

She fought a hard and brave battle with cancer, she passed peacefully at her home with her family by her side.  Dorothy saw the face of God and He took her breath away.

Family and friends may visit SATURDAY and SUNDAY, 2-4 & 6-8 PM, at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Twp., where prayers will be offered Monday 9:30 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, at St. Malachy Parish.  Burial will take place at St. Mark's Cemetery.
