Donna Marie Yakelis was a long-term dedicated employee of Hänel storage Systems and a friend to all she encountered. When I first met Donna, more than twenty years ago, her warmth and skills were quite apparent. Within a very short time we became a formidable business team as well as friends and confidants. When I learned of her passing, I was overwhelmed with emotion, memories, and loss. We gathered as a company so I could share the news with the staff, and I found myself both emotional and so easily full of praise for this wonderful person. Many of our staff is both new and young and never had the pleasure of knowing Donna so I imparted the following.

Donna came up in a different time. She went to secretarial school and learned skills that are no longer taught like shorthand and dictation. Her handwriting was beautiful and perfect. Her written skills impeccable. Everything Donna did, Donna did well. Donna had old school sensibilities, pride in what she did and warmth in every relationship. I recall stories of barefoot days as a young adult in the time of hippies, talks with her about her beloved brother and her ongoing adoration for her nephew and grand nephew.

As I looked out at our new young and talented staff, I realized that many of their jobs were originally performed by Donna. As a small company we all had to wear many hats and Donna wore them all. In fact, many of the processes still in place are a result of Donna's initiatives long ago.

I will always love and consider Donna a true friend of mine and a great friend to everyone at Hänel Storage Systems. May she have found peace and rest and always have our love in heart as we will always have her love in our hearts.

Donna was there from the time I was a baby. She always made me smile and I will never forget her laugh. I will miss her.
