Age 86, of Kennedy Twp., passed peacefully surrounded by his family on December 29, 2017. He was born December 14, 1931 to the late Joseph and Fannie Castelveter; Beloved husband for 65 years to Justine; Proud father of Mark, Dale (Karen), Todd (Stephanie) and Donn (Lauren); Cherished grandfather of Joshua, Amber, Vincent, Anthony, Marco, Emily, Mason, and Brandon; Dear brother of Robert, and the late Louis, Patsy Castelveter, and Evelyn Andrasko; Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and his best friend, pet Ben. He retired after 25 years with United Airlines. He was a Korean War veteran, proudly serving 8 years in the U.S. Coast Guard Aviation. He was a longtime Kennedy Twp little league coach. He joined the Kennedy Twp Volunteer Fire Department in 1960 and was a lifetime member, serving 2 years as President. He was a bartender at the Fireman’s Club and participated in bingo, street fairs and parades. An avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers. He was a friend to all and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone. We are truly blessed to have had him in our lives and he will live forever in our hearts. Family and friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM TUESDAY at the McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Twp., where prayers will be offered WEDNESDAY at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Malachy Church.
