Died peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2022. Son of the late Margaret T. Cillo and Herman O. Cillo. Survived by brother Dennis L. Cillo (Mary Elizabeth), nephews and nieces Dennis Jr., Anna Rachel, Alexa Leah, Herman and great nieces Haylee and Isabella and nephew Jeremy.
A graduate of St. Mary’s in McKees Rocks and Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in chemical engineering. He worked at the Bureau of Mines and ERDA in South Park for over 30 years and was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Chemical Society, Secretary/Treasurer of the Coal Technology Group, and advisor to a FIRST Robotics Team for handicapped children. He lived in 84, PA and after retirement, published several compilations of short stories. He was a long-time supporter of both the Pittsburgh Symphony and the Public Theater.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM MONDAY, August 29, 2022 at McDermott Funeral Home, Inc., 334 Forest Grove Road, (Kennedy Twp.) Coraopolis, PA 15108. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM TUESDAY at St. Philip Parish / Ascension Roman Catholic Church.
