Cindy Holmes Dawkin

 Age 62, of Ingram, PA, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 14th, 2022.

This is no ordinary obituary because Cindy Holmes Dawkin was no ordinary lady, to know her was to love her. She touched the lives of everyone she met and left an everlasting impression on those who knew her.

Cindy Holmes “Ninny”  Dawkin. You never gave up on anything, including us. You always did everything with everyone else in mind... never yourself. You loved every one of your family completely, selflessly and lavishly. We were all your favorite. You made us feel so special. You believed in us. You put every ounce of your heart and soul with every expectation of an amazing life. You sacrificed so much. You worked so hard. You imprinted so much on our hearts through your example and your fierce determination and unconditional love. You never lied. You never gave up. Even when you were battling your own ailments, you still were able to find a way to reach out and help others.  You showed such genuine interest in everyone around you.  You seemed captivated by and in awe of everyone around you and always made them feel loved! We are all better people because of you. Cindy was always there, taking care of everyone in need, while never thinking of herself.  She was a warm, intelligent, strong woman and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her husband of 26 years William Dawkin; Step-sons Brian Dawkin (Melissa) and Steven Dawkin; Grandchildren Brandon Dawkin, Paighton Dawkin, Chase Dawkin, and Ryan Dawkin; Sister Cheryl Schallus (Chuck); Brothers Dan Holmes (Michelle) and Butch Holmes; Nieces Presley Holmes and Elysha Schallus; Nephew’s Chris, Nick, and Josh Schallus; Great Nephew Maverick.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Harry (Windy) and Anna Mae (Jake) Holmes.

Visitation will be held 2:00 – 8:00 PM THURSDAY at McDermott Funeral Home, 334 Forest Grove Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108, where Funeral Services will be held FRIDAY, 11:00 AM.  Burial will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
