85, of Kennedy Twp., passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017.  He was the beloved husband to Janet (Crowley) Matayoshi; loving father to Patti Elliott, Jackie (Michael) McGonigal, Tina R. (George) Miller-Wharton, and the late John Lance Higgins; cherished grandfather of four; dear great-grandfather of two; and is also survived by other family members.  Charles served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  Family and friends may visit THURSDAY, 2-8 pm at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME., INC., 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Twp., where a service will take place FRIDAY, at 10:00 am, followed by burial at Valley Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charle’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
