Benina A. "Bea" Mogan

Benina A. "Bea" (Martinez) Mogan, age 97, of McKees Rocks, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 14, 2023.  Bea was born on December 23, 1925, in Pittock (McKees Rocks) PA to the late Cecilia Trulli Martinez and Belen Martinez.  Loving wife to the late Jack Mogan, who will greet her in heaven after waiting 39 years.  Adored mother of Jack (Janine) Mogan, Donald (Lisa) Mogan, Richard (Anna) Mogan, and Patricia (Steve) Schillero.  Grandmother to Natalie Smider, Daniel Mogan, Sarah Mogan (Josh Garlitz), Carly Mogan, Sean Mogan, Connor Mogan, Tyler Schillero, Lauren Schillero and Evan Schillero, Olivia Mogan.  Doting great-grandmother of Arya Mogan and Emma Smider.  Cherished sister of Frances Foley, and preceded in death by her loving brothers Paul Martinez, Sam Martinez, and Joseph Martinez. Also beloved cousin and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Stowe High School in 1943, Bea was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and then enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother for many years.  She returned to work at Hills Department Store, Paski’s Restaurant and then as the hostess at Highland Country Club in Pittsburgh from which she retired.

Bea was known for her kindness, generosity, and outgoing personality.  She had a warm and friendly smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and always enjoyed telling funny stories and hearing jokes.  She was a wonderful dancer with a fun-loving spirit and attended ballroom dances weekly, well into her eighties.

The family is very grateful for the devoted care given to Bea by the wonderful staff at Cranberry Place and UPMC Family Hospice. 

Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 12 – 4 PM at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 334 Forest Grove Road, Coraopolis (Kennedy Township), PA 15108 where a Blessing Service will be held at 4PM.
