Anthony Joseph Muscarella

January 8, 1929 — January 18, 2021

Anthony Joseph Muscarella, Age 92, of Hankey Farms, died at St. Clair Hospital on Monday, January 18, 2021. Tony was born January 8, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA son of the late Phillip Muscarelli and Catherine Vallelunga. For the past 21 years, Tony has been the beloved life partner of Betty Trocchio and together they have had some wonderful adventures, many times with Betty’s four kids and their families. Tony is survived by one sister, Marie Watts of Carnegie and has 3 late brothers and 2 late sisters. Tony has been blessed with three sons, Tony Muscarella, Jr., and his wife Lisa of McCandless Township, Michael Muscarella and his wife Dayna of Cranberry Township, and Gary Muscarella and his wife Barbara of Baden. Tony also has 7 grandchildren: Tony III, Trey, Michael, Telina, Steven, Ashley and David, plus 5 great-grandchildren. Many fun weekends were spent at Tony’s cabin in Butler with the Muscarella clan. By profession, Tony was a printer working for the local Pittsburgh papers and other publication companies, however, his real love was the arts. He was an artist, piano player, Dean Martin impersonator and a wonderful ballroom dancer. He was also a familiar face in the audience at the Pittsburgh CLO. But Tony was versatile, he raised beagles for 40 years entering them in competition at times and also was a Little League coach for 9 years while his sons were young. Tony joined the service after high school and was stationed with the Army in Japan for 11 months. He wanted to be a paratrooper, however, he needed 6 jumps to get his wings. After one month, he transferred out of the paratroopers - no jumps. Now you have those wings Tony. You've been an all-around good guy and will be missed by many who love you.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, burial will be private at the Resurrection Mausoleum on Saturday, January 23rd, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. No flowers or gifts necessary. If you would like, donations can be made to Animal Friends (562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237) in Tony’s honor.
