Ann Wasek

Age 92, 48 year resident of Kennedy Township (since 1970), quietly passed away on August 27, 2018.  Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents, Julius and Viola Egnacheski; her 3 sisters, Harriet, Wanda, and Mary; and her 4 brothers, Jules, Henry, Raymond, and Daniel. Ann is survived by her 8 children, Joseph (Bonnie), James (Sylvia), Joanne (Scott) Scaccia, Jerome, John (Susan), Jean, Jane (David) Matchett, and Judith; her brother, Chester; and her sister, Gertrude. Ann was a devoted grandmother of 17; and an honored great-grandmother of 17.  She was born and raised in West View, PA. Ann met her husband, Joseph, while working at Western Electric. She loved Polka Music and collecting all sorts of things. Everyone used to say Ann would be late to her own funeral but now she is the one leading the way to Heaven. Family and friends will be received WEDNESDAY from 5:00-8:00 PM at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Township. Prayers will be offered on THURSDAY at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Malachy Church, with Rev. John E. Hissrich officiating and concelebrated with Rev. Jack McCoy. Interment will be in St. Mary/St. Ignatius Cemetery, Swallow Hill Road, Carnegie, PA.  If desired, donations may be made to St. Malachy Church or Kennedy Township Fire Department in Ann’s honor.
