Andrew Kriska, age 97, of Kennedy Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Helen (Bernot) Kriska. Loving father of Andrea Kriska, Amy (Gary) Rudzik, and Anita (Frank) Finklang; cherished grandfather of Jennifer Rudzik and David (fiancée Jamie Figurel) Rudzik, Philip (Kristina) Soltez, and Pamela Soltez; great-grandfather of Rose Soltez; son of the late John and Mary (Padaras) Kriska; brother of King (John) Kriska and the late Jay (John) Kriska, Bruce Kriska, Michael Kriska, Ann McElhaney, Sue Pavlina, Julia Shimkus, Helen Lynch, Marie Nagoda; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Andrew served in the US Army during WW II and was a member of the American Legion Post 464. He was an usher at St. Malachy Catholic Church, member of the St. Malachy Men’s Club and coordinated their senior citizens bus trips. Andrew had also served as an elected Kennedy Township County Committeeman. He was an avid Steeler fan, owning season tickets since 1948 that the family continue to enjoy to this day. Above all else, he was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his family and friends. Relatives and friends received Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 1-3 & 6-8 PM at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 334 Forest Grove Road, Coraopolis (Kennedy Township) PA 15108. Funeral prayer and eulogy Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 9:15AM at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Archangel Gabriel Parish, St. Malachy Church, 343 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Township.
