Albena “Bea” Genevieve (Dominytis) Kvaternik
Passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the age of 101. Bea was born on October 2, 1919, in Pittsburgh, PA. She was the daughter of the late Anna and Frank Dominytis. After her retirement from Industrial Appraisal Company in Pittsburgh, she spent much of her time volunteering at Ohio Valley Hospital, the Focus on Renewal Center in McKees Rocks, and as a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Malachy Catholic Church. Prior to WWII, Bea was certified as an airman on the Piper Cub by the Civil Aeronautics Administration. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and spending time with her family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John “Jay” Kvaternik, step-father, Charles Kiebart, and her Aunt Minnie. She is survived by her son Chris (John) Kent and daughter-in-law, Jeanette, Moon Township, PA, her grandchildren Kelly (Joseph) Smyntek, Buffalo, NY, and Eric (Lori) Kent, Berlin, PA and her great-grandchildren, Alex and Athena Smyntek, and Genevieve, Christopher, and Charles Kent.
Masks and social distancing are required at the funeral home and church for the health and safety of all visitors.
Family will receive friends 10:00 – 11:00 AM SATURDAY at the McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Road, (Coraopolis) Kennedy Township, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Archangel Gabriel Parish, St. Malachy Church, Kennedy township. Private interment will follow at St. Casimir Cemetery in Dormont.
