Services
Our commitment to providing high professional and ethical service is the cornerstone of our independently owned and family operated funeral home. Our Licensed Funeral Directors firmly believe that through continuing education we are able to provide our community with the finest service in the funeral industry today. As part of our highly professional standards, we believe in the necessity of supporting and abiding by the Pennsylvania Funeral Director Laws, Rules and Regulations and the Federal Laws governing the Funeral Industry. In so doing, our directors are licensed through the State of Pennsylvania by the State Board of Funeral Service. So we may provide the option of Advanced Funeral Planning utilizing the Burial Insurance option, Patricia K. McDermott, A. Timothy Wilt, and Terry L. Blosnich have also completed the necessary requirements to be a Licensed Pennsylvania Life and Fixed Annuities Resident Agent.
Personalized Service Families are encouraged to display their loved ones memorabilia, hobbies and interests, so as to honor the talents and creativity of their deceased loved one. Our Directors are accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Whether a death occurs at home, in a nearby medical facility or across the country, our staff is well trained to assist you in providing the necessary funeral arrangements in a timely and dignified manner. Our Directors are also available after the funeral to assist with the
filing of Insurance Claims, Veteran Death Benefits and so forth. We can assist
you and make arrangements as where to hold memorial luncheons, as well as
places to stay for out of town guests and relatives. Community Service At McDermott Funeral Homes, Inc. our services are not completed after the deceased is buried or cremated. We realize that our service is only the beginning of your journey through grief and we provide support groups, programs and literature to help you. Our support groups meet in the Spring and in the Fall. We also have listings of all of the support groups that are held in the area, so that your schedule can be accommodated. Another program that we offer our "Annual Service of Consolation". We understand that the holidays can be a trying and stressful time of year for someone who has lost a loved one. Therefore, since 1995, McDermott Funeral Home, Inc. has hosted the Memorial Program at the beginning of December. During our program, the speaker offers ideas and insights as to how to best handle the up-coming Yuletide Season. We conclude our program with a Tree Lighting Ceremony in which every person who had died in the previous year is remembered. This Ornament on which is the deceased name and date of death is presented to the family after the program to take home and cherish. This Light of Hope is intended to shine brightly throughout the holiday season. If you would like to talk to someone about our services please call - (412) 331-3311
